DEB Common Suffix Game with Resources
Connect Four games for reviewing common suffixes and spelling patterns. Children learn to recognise common suffixes and understand whether they begin with a vowel or consonant while building morphology, vocabulary, oral language, word reading, and spelling skills. The activities encourage children to explain word meanings, use words with suffixes in sentences, and apply spelling patterns such as the doubling rule and silent e rule, helping develop confidence and a deeper understanding of how words work.

Stanley card game-3-1 Open and Closed Syllables
Created by DEB member Keryn Wilson who created this game to support her dyslexic students when teaching open and closed syllables. Keryn carefully choose words that fit across different levels of a scope and sequence, include meaningful vocabulary, and even considered words with multiple meanings to support students who face both language challenges and dyslexia. The game is named after her wonderful dog Stanley, and of course, the students love the familiar connection when they see Stanley’s face on the cards.
